About the Club

Holbeach & Fenland Gymnastics Club was originally started by Colin and Lesley Christensen in 1980 in a school hall in Wyberton and was known as the Fenland Gymnastics Club. The club moved to Holbeach Community Centre in 1983 and so adopted its new name. As the membership and success grew new premises were eventually found at Roots farm in 1991. Over the next four years the Committee worked hard to raise funds and the number of members continued to increase. At the end of July 2006 the hard work paid off and the club moved again – this time to the Sports Hall at The Peele School in Long Sutton, Our current home! We now share the fantastic facilities with the community with the school using the Gymnastics Hall for their curricular activities.

Our Gym Club is a non profit making club run by parents and volunteers. All our coaches are CRB checked, qualified and affiliated to British Gymnastics (the governing body of gymnastics). Our Junior coaches work under supervision of our Senior club coaches to become the coaches of tomorrow! We follow strict guidelines on child welfare, health and safety and ask all members and parents to read and comply with the club rules before joining our club.

At Holbeach & Fenland we aim to offer all children the opportunity to take part in Gymnastics. We feel participation alone teaches children many skills to set them up for life such as; dedication, the ethic of hard work, team work and good sportsmanship. We understand that all children develop at different levels we therefore like to encourage all gymnasts to achieve their full potential whether this is at recreational or competitive level and we hope that the gym is a happy, fun and friendly place for them to learn.
